A bit of Christmas cheer (give away!!)

December is almost upon us. The Silly Season is fast approaching. I thought I would get my Christmas-love in nice and early, and do a give away NOW to say thanks to each and everyone of you for reading this here little blog.

The only sad part is with the monstrosity that is the cost of shipping, this little prize pack is only going to be available to Australian residents. Anyway, I’ve put together a few goodies – including a recipe book and shopping guide that I’ve talked about on the blog. Some local treats to eat (of course) and some fabulous organic lip balm. Yay! Christmas is really a whole day of eating around here. We go to my man’s parents for a lunch with the whole xmasy table.. sparkly stuff, candles, crackers, they really do for it. Then later, over to my Grandparents for more stuffing our bellies. The specialty of the day is always Grandma’s trifle – it’s not kid friendly. I think it’s 80% sherry.

I shared on FB – sorry I don’t tweet. For Christmas lunch, we will probably just have some cold seafood and salad ! Christmas Eve, I always do a roast organic pork with all the trimming and a nice dessert. But this year, hubby is inviting his Hindu workmate so I may have to rethink the roast pork!   Your Xmas seafood/salad spread sounds like mine pre-vegan – ours will be the same this year for Misty & Viper (prawns/salmon) but some sort of vegan treat for me…. lots of salads (and champers!) for sure

I always count the best Christmas lunch as the one on Boxing Day at my folks house. Last year we had roast goose for the first time, with a GF organic stuffing of prunes & dried apricots and probably pine nuts… It was so popular we are having goose again. Not sure what accompaniments but dessert will be GF pud (which reminds me, I should have started that about 6 weeks ago) and I’ll make some custard & probably ice cream too.
Somewhere in there we will probably also crack a bottle of sparkling Shiraz we recently picked up from a local winery.

I haven’t decided what will be on my Christmas menu yet, but I think a nut roast will be involved

Xmas dinner will be a selection of salads.. not quite sure what and then a range of healthy delicious desserts… depends on how hot it will be really, I’d love to do a mac and cheese bake but if it’s hot the oven’s staying off!

  It’s always a stinker on Xmas here (actually it’s just hot ALL of the time here!) but Mac & Cheese sounds yummy…. I’m sure Misty would love that – do you have a recipe?

Love your generosity, not just with this giveaway, but generally the way you share your life on your blog!
Mum will be cooking the mains and I will be bringing a mango and coconut pudding – a good compromise of tradition and summery seasonal produce I think! I already like you on Facebook.
